Immerse yourself in the rich tradition and competitive spirit of the Hatteras Village Offshore Open, a premier fishing tournament set in the picturesque Outer Banks of North Carolina. From May 10th to May 13th, 2023, anglers from around the country will gather to experience world-class fishing while enjoying the stunning beauty of Hatteras Island. With impressive cash prizes, multiple categories, and a focus on conservation, this exciting fishing tournament offers a unique opportunity for both experienced anglers and newcomers alike. 

To secure your spot in the Hatteras Village Offshore Open fishing tournament, mail your entry forms and fees prior to April 30th, 2023. On-site registration begins at 5 PM on Tuesday, May 9th, at the Hatteras Village Civic Center. All participating boats must be registered by 8 PM on May 9th, 2023. 

Choose any three out of the four days from Wednesday, May 10th, through Saturday, May 13th, 2023, to cast your lines and compete for glory in this renowned fishing tournament. The non-fishing day must be reported on an official lay day form before 8 AM of the day declared a non-fishing day. 

The tournament places a strong emphasis on catch-and-release for billfish, with all marlin releases reported on a release form the same day as the fish is released. Submit release forms at the Official Weigh Station at Hatteras Harbor Marina by 7:00 PM each day. 

Cash prizes and plaques/trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Level I and Level II, which are billfish levels, during the fishing tournament. Additional cash prizes and awards await winners in various categories, including the largest tuna, dolphin, wahoo, and the greatest number of daily billfish release points. 

In addition to providing an unforgettable fishing experience, the Hatteras Village Offshore Open fishing tournament supports the local community, with the Hatteras Village Civic Association retaining 15% of the entry fees to contribute to Hatteras Island organizations such as the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation and the local Volunteer Fire Department.
